Our Programs
We are busy, busy, busy!

Downtown Tour - Bill Stone guides visitors on a walking tour of Covina's charming historic downtown area on the second Sunday of each month. Tours begin at 1:15PM at the Firehouse Jail Museum behind City Hall.

Firehouse Jail Museum - Open every Sunday from 1-3PM. It is a wonderful community museum that features a comprehensive collection of everything citrus. Original records from the Covina Citrus Association can be found, meteorological records for the area, juicers, advertisements, production records, tax information and a rare collection of original packing crate labels can be found in this unique museum.

Heritage House - Built in 1908 by the Nash family, the Heritage House is a physical snapshot of turn-of-the-century life in a small rural town. Formal teas are held here by reservation. It is open on the fourth Sunday of each month and is located at the west side of Covina Park on Valencia Avenue.

Landmarking - CVHS is currently offering a FREE custom curb landmark for all historic structures built before 1960.  There are no strings attached!  Property owners get a package of goodies, including a certificate of participation; research and rehab links; information on preservation benefits and incentives; and a full set of applications for local, regional, state, and national designation.

History surrounds us in Covina
We are a fortunate community. Many of our older buildings and homes have survived to welcome a new century. A voluntary Historic Preservation Ordinance has been wisely adopted by the Covina City Council. Time and attitudes are slowly changing and many of our historic structures are finally getting the respect they deserve. Covina's City Hall, originally built in 1930, has been completely refurbished. Covina Park just celebrated over 75 years since its founding and the re-dedication of Jobe's Glen at Jalapa Park commemorates one of Covina's early pioneer families.

The Firehouse Jail Museum is located behind City Hall just east of Citrus Street.
