Occasionally the Covina Valley Historical Society
offers selected items for sale.
We accept donated (sometimes rescued) items from a
variety of sources. These donations are sometimes old,
fragile and of uncertain provenance.
Frequently, donors do not know what their treasure is,
let alone its origin. Items that are clearly
connected in some tangible way to Covina are most sought
after for our permanent collection.
We would LOVE to keep and display
EVERYTHING! However, our museum space is limited
and precious. The Society makes no guarantees
that specific donations will be held in our
collection. We are clear with donors on
that policy and accept many items purely on the basis
of benefiting our organization.
When we receive items of clear significance to
other local historical societies in the area, our
curator works with regional curators to help these
important pieces of history to find their way
home.
Each item we sell is
offered "as is". Purchasers are responsible for
shipping and insurance costs to transport the item
to its new home. It's not easy, but
many of the items are unique and beautiful - well worth
the trouble!
