WEBSITE POLICY

Covina History is an informational local-history website. This starter privacy policy is written for a site with no contact form, newsletter, subscription system, public account registration, or direct contact information. Review it before publishing so it matches the plugins, analytics, hosting, embeds, and advertising tools actually enabled on the live site.
Like most websites, the hosting environment and security tools may record technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, requested URL, and timestamps. This information may be used for site security, error diagnosis, performance, and aggregate traffic measurement.
WordPress, Elementor, security tools, analytics tools, embedded media, or other enabled features may use cookies or similar browser storage. The exact cookies depend on the live configuration. Avoid claiming that cookies are absent unless the production site has been tested.
If analytics are enabled, aggregated usage data may be processed by the selected analytics provider. Configure the production privacy policy to identify that provider and its data practices.
Articles may link to or embed material from government agencies, libraries, museums, historical organizations, maps, video platforms, archives, or other external websites. Those third parties operate under their own privacy practices.
The site may publish publicly available business names, addresses, and descriptive directory information for editorial reference. Inclusion does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
The site is intended as a general-audience history and reference publication and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
Technical logs may be retained for periods determined by the hosting, security, and analytics configuration. Administrative access should use strong authentication, updated software, and least-privilege practices.
This policy may be updated when site features, plugins, hosting, or legal requirements change. The review date at the top should be updated when material changes are published.
Covina History is independent and is not affiliated with the City of Covina, Los Angeles County, any government agency, or the Covina Valley Historical Society.
